Target Audience: This educational activity is designed for Doulas but other health professionals are welcome.

Objectives:

Walking the Path of Perinatal Loss: How Doulas Can Support the Grieving Family

At the conclusion of this educational activity participants should be able to:

  • Describe holistic care for families preparing for or enduring perinatal death
  • Review disparities in perinatal loss and cultural implications for bereavement
  • Discuss communication with grieving individuals
  • List resources available to support doulas and grieving families

Strategies and Insights for Doulas in Preventing Pregnancy and Infant Loss

At the conclusion of this educational activity participants should be able to:

  • Describe strategies to reduce the incidence of stillbirth and neonatal death
  • Identify challenges to perinatal loss prevention
  • Discuss opportunities for improving parent/provider partnerships during pregnancy
  • Provide education to families regarding evidence-based practices

Continuing Education: This continuing professional development activity has been approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. A maximum of 3.0 contact hours will be awarded upon completion of this activity
